Hello and welcome to the Vail Valley. This a special place for our family as there is nothing better than being able to spend time in the outdoors. We hope you can sit back and enjoy your time at the house, but more importantly your time outside in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
To help you during your stay we’ve put together this website to help you quickly familiarize yourself with the house, some of the rules, and some of our favorite spots in the valley.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns. We are happy to help during your stay. Our primary form of contact is through the AirBNB app, but if you need to get a hold of us please don't hesitate to call.
If you are unable to reach us, and you are having an issue that requires immediate attention, please reach out to Del.
Our address is 259 Stone Creek Drive Unit A (East Unit) Eagle-Vail, CO 81620. Our house is on the right hand side of the duplex as you pull into the driveway.
• No parties.
• No smoking OF ANY KIND is allowed indoors at any time.
• Dogs allowed, if pre-approved by the owners.
• The hot tub is not to be used after 9pm. Please respect our neighbors. Most of them live there year round.
• If something during your stay comes up that is not to your liking or you need something we don’t have, we really do want to hear about it as soon as possible during your stay so that we can help. While we try to anticipate the general needs of our guests, we may have overlooked something. Please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can to ensure your stay is a great one!
Please be sure to park on our half of the property. You can easily fit three cars in the driveway — four might be pushing it. The town of Eagle-Vail does not allow parking on the street. Your car will be towed if it is. Overnight parking is hard to find, so please plan accordingly.
We’ll provide you with your own access code that you can use throughout your stay. Simply enter your code on the keypad and the door will unlock.
As with most homes in the Vail Valley our place does NOT have an AC unit. During the hot summer months the upstairs can get a little toasty in the afternoon. Upon arriving be sure to open the doors in the master bedroom and the windows in the other bedrooms. This creates a nice draft and will start to cool down the house.
Each room also has a fan to help you stay cool at night.
We turn the heat down when the house is empty, so you’ll want to heat the place up once you arrive. There is a Nest thermostat near the dining table that controls the fireplace in the living room. Set it to the desired temperature and the fireplace will turn on and off depending on the temp.
There is also a gas heater in the sunroom. Again, set to the desired temp and it will take care of the rest.
There are thermostats in each room upstairs that can be set to your desired temp as well.
The hot tub can only be used between 7am and 9pm. Please do not use the hot tub after 9pm. This is strictly enforced as it is a requirement to be respectful or our neighbors.
To protect your own health and safety, and the integrity of the tub, all guests must shower before and after using the hot tub.
Please leave spa cover on and secured after use. The spa cover is for insulation only and is not designed to support weight. Please do not stand or sit on the spa cover.
No glass in the hot tub.
And no pets in the hot tub.

Also feel free to connect to the Sonos speaker. You can do this via the Sonos app and play music from any of our playlists. If you have an iOS device you can also play music directly from your device via AirPlay. Learn more about connecting to Sonos via AirPlay
Help yourself to any food left behind in cupboards or the fridge, as well as spices, oils, vinegars etc. Also help yourself to coffee! There’s a grinder on the counter, fresh beans in the glass jar, and creamer in the fridge.
Ice — the freezer does not make ice. There are ice trays in the 2nd drawer of the freezer.
Trash / Trash compactor — There is a trash bin/trash compactor to the left of the oven. The trash compactor is quite loud when you run it, but it works. Extra trash bags are under the sink.
Dishwasher — Detergent is under the sink. All plates, cups, glasses etc. can go in the dishwasher. Please don’t put Teflon (non-stick) pans or knives from knife-block in dishwasher.
Microwave — Please do not put the metal places/bowls in the microwave!
We have a closet in the first floor hallway where you can place your ski gear during your stay. Always best to keep those boots nice and warm!
Loft — Please be careful going up and down the ladder to the sleeping loft. Use of the ladder and loft is at your own risk.
Water shut-off — in case of water/plumbing emergency, the valve to shut off the water for the house is located in the crawl space. To access the crawl space, open the coat closet (first closet on your right after coming in the front door), and climb down the ladder in the floor. As you climb down (facing the ladder), the round shut-off valve will be on your right.
Breaker panel — located in the garage. Just give us a call if you have an electrical issue and we’ll get you in the garage.
Cleaning supplies — Located in laundry room upstairs and cleaning closet in front hall downstairs.
Extra toilet paper & paper towels — Located in laundry room upstairs
Extra bulbs — Located in laundry room upstairs.
- Turn all thermostats in each upstairs bedroom, upstairs bathroom and downstairs bathroom to 50 degrees. Adjust heat in living room/kitchen and sun room to 60 degrees.
- Used towels should be put in the washing machine, or on the floor near the washing machine. Beds and bed linens can be left unmade. We’ll take care of those.
- Do not leave washing machine running. OK to start items in the dryer before you leave and leave the dryer running.
- Wash any dishes you may have used and leave to dry in drying rack. Ok to start dishwasher before you leave and leave it running.
- We don’t expect a deep clean by any means but we do appreciate you generally leaving things how you found them and tidying up after your visit and/or cleaning up any messes made
- Leave trash in trash compactor – We will dispose of it.
- Put recycling in green recycling bin found in the ski storage closet in the hallway.
- Take or throw out all perishables in fridge.
- Cover red couch in sun-room with sheet.
- Bring in patio cushions
- Close all blinds and curtains.
- Close all windows & doors.
- Turn off all lights (including outdoor lights).
- Lock all the doors. Keys for doors to the yard and deck are in the doors (leave them in the doors). When exiting the front door just hit the green check mark and the door will lock. (If it doesn’t lock, re-enter your code and it should lock)
We hope you enjoy the house as much as we do. If you do, please leave us a review on AIRBNB and help future guest discover this special place.
You already know this, but you have two of the worlds best ski resorts just 15 minutes away in either direction. To the east is Vail and to the west is Beaver Creek. Links below to learn more about each location. Best way to get there from the house is by car. Both locations offer paid parking ranging from $10-$35 per day. You can also take public transportation. You have about a 20 minute walk to the bus stop located on Highway 6. Uber also operates in the valley and could be a good alternative.
There are some great trails right outside our door along with some good options for sledding for the kiddos. Make your way towards the mountains and the golf course and head to the 15th tee box. You should see the trailhead heading up the mountain.
If you are in need of a workout or just want to get the kids to the pool to burn off some energy, then Avon rec center is the place to be.
Snowmobiling is great way to get out and explore the vastness of the Colorado backcountry. This is for beginners and seasoned riders. Many tours offer pickup and drop off and offer half or full day options.
Located in Vail Village. One of our favorite restaurants in the valley. A little on the fancier side, but by all means a laid back, casual, fine dining experience. Be sure to book a reservation as they stay pretty busy.
This is one of our favorite spots to go in Eagle-Vail. Great selection of beer and great outdoor patio in the summer season. Be sure to get there before 6pm and enjoy the Taco Truck. The food is amazing.
This little store/coffee shop is a hidden gem in Eagle-Vail. Just a couple minute drive from the house and you'll be sipping on some great coffee and finding yourself some wears to take back home with you. Open Wed-Sat 10am-5pm during the summer.
One of our favorite casual dining spots in the valley. Great for large groups and families with kids. Tasty sandwiches, small bites, and healthy roster of beer on tap.
This place is our go-to breakfast spot. Located just off I-70 in Avon. Sit down and enjoy a good meal or stop in for doughnuts. You can't go wrong. This same owner has a few other restaurants in the valley as well for good variety of options.
The Eagle-Vail trail is our "backyard" trail. Take a look at the link below for all of the details. There are couple of ways to access the trail. The closest one is across the pond, and the golf course. Walk down the golf course, towards the green and look for the next tee box. Off the tee box is trailhead. Walk up the steep part of the trail and you'll end up on the Eagle-Vail trail. We like taking a left onto the trail and hiking until you get to a bench. Has a great view and is a good resting spot.
If you are up for an adventure (and you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle) then we would highly recommend a trip up to Piney Lake. This adventure starts in Vail with a beautiful drive up a dirt fire road. There is one small section of road that gets a little rough (we've seen small sedans get in there, but drive at your own risk), but once you get past that you arrive at Piney Lake. It's beautiful lake nestled up in the mountains. Once at the lake you can hiking, fishing, rent canoes, or just sit back and enjoy the view. There are several hiking trails in this area and with a little research you'll be sure find something for everyone.
